On-line Applications and Appointments:

The U.S. Embassy in Belize has instituted an appointment system for Non-Immigrant Visa interviews.  Due to the high level of interest in travel to the United States, those wishing to travel to the U.S. are encouraged to submit their visa applications at least one month in advance of their intended travel date.  It may take several weeks for an appointment.

Applicants must first complete the Electronic Visa Application Form, and then schedule an appointment.  The entire application including the accompanying bar code must be printed and brought to the interview the day of your appointment.

Immigrant Visas

See Important Notice for American citizens resident abroad, filing an I-130 immigrant petition for an immediate relative.  All I-130 petitions must now be filed with U.S. Citizen and Immigation Services.

Visa Interviews: By appointment only
Petition Services: Thursday 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Case Inquiries: Tuesdays 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Expedited and Emergency Appointments

We understand that there may be times when applicants require expedited appointments for medical treatment, family emergencies, or urgent business travel and we will work with the applicants to try to accomodate their needs.  Applicants can submit expedited appointment requests by e-mail at: consulbelize@state.gov or by fax at: (501) 822-4050.  The request should include:

  • the nature of the emergency
  • the applicant's travel plans
  • the appointment date requested; and
  • the applicant's name and contact information.

We will respond to requests within 24 hours and appointments will be granted at the discretion of the U.S. Embassy.

Applicants for student and exchange visitor visas always receive same-day appointments in order to ensure that they arrive on time for the start of their educational programs.
