U.S. Unveils Implementation Plan for Pandemic Influenza (May 4, 2006)
President Bush officially unveiled, on May 3, the Implementation Plan for the U.S. Government's National Strategy for Pandemic Influenza. The roll-out by the White House of the Implementation Plan is an indication of importance the United States places on this issue.
The Plan reflects the vital importance of a global response to avian influenza, and emphasizes that the United States will continue to develop its strong partnerships with nations and international organizations.
The U.S. Government and the Government of Belize, through USDA and BAHA, work closely to prepare for and respond to potential outbreaks of avian influenza. Examples of this excellent cooperation include training, speakers, joint planning sessions, and AI Simulation exercises.
The United States looks forward to continuing and enhancing this engagement, and invites you to view the Implementation Plan on the White House’s website.
