U.S. Embassy Issues First Visas in Belmopan (November 29, 2006)

The Embassy of the United States of America which just opened in Belmopan issued the first U.S. visa on November 27th, 2006.

Ambassador Robert J. Dieter presented the first visas to Alta Casares and her son Angel Castro in the lobby of the Consular Section.

The Rotary International - Belize City Gift of Life Program is sponsoring medical treatment for 18-month old Angel Castro. Angel and his mother will travel to Richmond, Virginia, where he will receive cardiac surgery for a ventricular septal defect.
