General Information

The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit of U.S. Embassy Belmopan’s Consular Section provides a wide range of services to U.S. citizens visiting or residing in Belize. Emergency Services arrests deaths illness victims of crimes lost or stolen passports Monday- Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After hour’s emergencies: Call the duty officer at 610-5030. Appointment services passports - Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings extra visa pages - Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings Notary Services - Wednesday mornings.  Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA) - Wednesday afternoons.  Please note that these services are by appointment only, unless a Consular Officer determines that there is need for an expedited appointment for emergency travel. The Consular Section makes every effort to assist U.S. citizens in need; however, U.S. citizens who come to the Consular Section without an appointment and without a determined need for consular services may be turned away. Passport pick-up is available on Monday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Emergencies In case of an emergency, call 822-4011 (x4225/x4226) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 610-5030 after hours. More Information If you do not reach a member of the consular section by phone, please leave a voicemail message (x4225/x4226) with your name, contact telephone, and reason for your call.  The Consular Section handles a high volume of daily inquiries at the window and via email and telephone, and may be occupied at that time. Please also note that members of the Consular Section are also away from their desks from 12:00-1:00 p.m. daily. A staff member will return phone calls for voicemail left upon their return. To call the Embassy from the United States, you must first dial 011-501, then the 7 digit number.
