U.S. Department of State Official Holds Press Conference (September 12, 2008)
U.S. Embassy Belmopan is pleased to announce the visit of Kirsten D. Madison, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs. She is responsible for the broad range of U.S. policy for Central America, the Caribbean, and Cuba. She is visiting Belize from September 17-19, to meet with Belize government officials to discuss U.S. policy toward Central America and the Caribbean.
Deputy Assistant Secretary Madison, along with U.S. Ambassador Robert J. Dieter, will be available to answer questions from the media at a press conference on Wednesday, September 17 at 3:30 p.m. at the Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina.
Ms. Madison has also served as a Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs and has served at the White House as the National Security Council’s Director for Central American and Caribbean Basin Affairs. Ms. Madison holds a Master of Science Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland.
