Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation Grant Presented to Government House/House of Culture and the Institute of Archaeology (August 7, 2009)

On Monday, August 10, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., J.A. Diffily of the U.S. Embassy in Belmopan will award two grants from the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation to Belize.

Ms. Lita Krohn will accept the check on behalf of Government House/House of Culture, and Dr. Jaime Awe will be present to accept the check on behalf of the Institute of Archaeology.

This year, Belize has been awarded BZ$106,800 for the Refurbishment of Government House/House of Culture and BZ$121,600 for the Lamanai Mask Temple Conservation Project.

Since 2005, Belize has received over BZ$500,000 through the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation.

All media representatives are invited to attend the official signing ceremony on Monday, August 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the House of Culture in Belize City
