Foreign Service Officer Test

January 9, 2012

The Embassy of the United States of America hereby announces that applications for the position of Foreign Service Officer (FSO) are now being accepted by the Department of State.  One of the first steps in becoming an FSO is to take the Foreign Service Officer Test (FSOT), which is offered worldwide at various locations.  The FSOT will be offered in Belize at the U.S. Embassy in Belmopan on February 6, 2012.  The registration deadline for candidates intending to test overseas is January 25, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. (U.S. Central Time Zone).

FSOs are at the forefront of all U.S. Embassies, Consulates, and Diplomatic Missions around the world as well as in Washington, D.C.  These Officers are instrumental in the formulation and implementation of U.S. foreign policy.

If you are a U.S. citizen and interested in serving as an FSO, please visit the Department of State website at http://www.careers.state.gov/ for information on eligibility, application, registration, testing, and more career information.
