Peace Corps Belize - Training Manager

Basic Functions of the Position:

  • Manage the design, delivery and evaluation of competency-based training to prepare Peace Corps Trainees for two years of volunteer service in Belize.
  • Additionally, coordinate and manage the development and implementation of the long-term training curriculum, which includes all in-service courses, workshops, and comprehensive language instruction for Volunteers throughout their 24 months of service.
  • Manage relevant staff and budgets associated with training program.

Qualifications – Education/Experience:

  • University bachelor degree in adult education, human resources management, or development-related field, or 5-7 years of equivalent experience in adult, non-formal education required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:

  • Proven experience researching, designing, and delivering a multi-component, competency-based training program for adults. 
  • Demonstrated, progressively more responsible management, administration, or coordination of a training program and related staff.
  • Knowledge of train-the-trainer approaches, group dynamics and facilitation techniques for education programs.
  • Demonstrated facilitation skills and ability to make presentations comfortably in front of a group. 
  • Experience managing budgets and expenses in a high accountability environment.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be a licensed driver with the ability to operate a standard shift, 4-wheel drive motor vehicle throughout Belize.
  • Job requires brief to extended periods of travel for training site development.
 Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Peace Corps philosophy and training system, Peace Corps policies and regulations desirable. 
  • Familiarity with Belizean culture, communities, and geography.
  • Language proficiency in any of the following: Creole, Spanish, K’ekchi, Garifuna, or Mopan.

Position Salary and Position Duration:

Salary negotiable based on previous experience and qualifications. One-year contract renewable upon satisfactory performance.
