    The Department of State alerts U.S. citizens to the upcoming Hurricane Season in the Atlantic, the Caribbean, and the Gulf of Mexico. Hurricane season in the Atlantic begins June 1 and ends November 30.

  • Absentee Voting Information for U.S. Citizens Abroad
    Absentee Voting Information for U.S. Citizens Abroad

    Now all U.S. citizens can receive their blank ballots electronically. Depending on the state in which you are eligible to vote, you may get your ballot by email, fax, or internet download. To start, go to www.FVAP.gov to complete a new Federal Post Card Application (FPCA), print and sign the form then return it to your local election office in the United States. We recommend overseas U.S. citizens get in the habit of completing FPCAs each January.

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) today announced the designation of John Zabaneh and two members of his drug trafficking organization, who are based in Belize and are key associates of Joaquin “Chapo” Guzman Loera, and other members of the Sinaloa Cartel.

    The Department of State alerts U.S. citizens to the hurricane and typhoon seasons in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, the Caribbean, and the Gulf of Mexico. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recommends that those in hurricane- and typhoon-prone regions begin preparations for the upcoming seasons now. This Travel Alert expires on December 1, 2012. 

  • Changes to the American Citizens Services (ACS) Unit

    The U.S. Embassy Belmopan would like to announce two changes to the American Citizens Services (ACS) Unit. First, starting Monday, May 7, 2012, ACS will offer appointments for passports and additional visa pages on Monday afternoons instead of Monday mornings. This change is to make attending appointments more convenient for ACS clients who must travel for several hours to reach the Embassy. The Embassy will continue to offer passport and additional visa pages appointments on Thursday mornings.

  • Visa Processing Fees to Change on April 13, 2012

    Effective April 13, 2012, the Department of State will adjust visa processing fees. The fees for most nonimmigrant visa applications and Border Crossing Cards will increase, while all immigrant visa processing fees will decrease.
