Medical Readiness Training Exercise comes to an end - February 2, 2007
All media are invited to attend the closing ceremony of the Medical Readiness Training Exercise (MEDRETE) of the 396th Combat Support Hospital, Civil Affairs from the Army Reserve, and US Army South.
Approximately 45 medical personnel were stationed at Fairweather Camp in Punta Gorda Town, from January 29th – February 7th. During this ten-day period, the team is capable of seeing 500 - 700 people per day. They will provide veterinary, medical, optometry, dental, preventative and family health care free of cost. MEDRETE programs aim at providing quality level 1 medical care to the public where services are difficult to provide and to provide a training opportunity for the U.S. military.
U.S. Ambassador Robert Dieter and BDF Brigadier General Lloyd Gillett will attend the closing ceremony on Wednesday, February 7th at 2:00 p.m. at the Santa Teresa Roman Catholic School in Santa Teresa Village, Toledo.
A member of the MEDRETE team will be on hand to give media a tour and answer questions.
