Emergency assistance from the U.S. Embassy is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
During regular business hours (Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), U.S. Citizens with emergencies may appear for assistance in person at the Embassy consular section or may call 822-4011.
If you are an U.S. citizen with an after hours emergency, please call the duty officer at 610-5030.
If you are calling from the United States, you must first dial 011-501 and then the seven digit number.
In the event of an arrest, medical emergency, death, crime, loss or theft or a U.S. Passport, or other emergency, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Please remember that the investigation and prosecution of crimes are solely the responsibility of local authorities, but that our consular officers can help you to understand the local criminal justice process and to find an attorney if needed.
