Belize Receives Document Detection and Smuggling Deterrence Training (May 5, 2006)
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement Forensic Document Laboratory (DHS/ICE/FDL), Customs and Border Protection (DHS/CBP) and the Canadian Migration Integrity Office will be conducting Fraudulent Document Detection and Smuggling Deterrence training in Belize in a continued effort to increase the security of Belizean citizens and visitors by helping ensure the integrity of their travel documents. The training will be held in Belize City, from May 9 through 12, 2006.
Officials from the following agencies will be participating in the seminar: Immigration and Nationality, Customs, Law Enforcement (Police at check-points), Border Patrol of the Defence Force, American Airlines, TACA Airlines, Continental Airlines and U.S. Air. The International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs and the Migration Integrity Office funded the program.
