Announcing - Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation 2010
The Embassy of the United States of America is pleased to announce that Belize is once again eligible to apply for the U.S. State Department’s Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation.
This fund was established by the U.S. Congress in 2001 to preserve culture overseas. Last year, the National Institute of Culture and History was awarded over US $114,000 for projects run by the Institute of Archaeology and Government House/House of Culture.
This Ambassador’s fund permits select U.S. Ambassadors around the world to submit competitive proposals for one-time or recurring projects to assist in preserving culture. Each year, Congress makes available almost U.S. 3 million dollars to be divided among chosen projects.
The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs administers the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation and selects which proposals will receive funding. Last year, awards ranged from between US$ 10,000 and US$ 106,300.
If you are interested in applying this year, please read the 2010 Guidelines for the U.S. Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation. You may then submit proposals by December 11, 2009 to:
